If your organisation will be preparing or cooking the food, rather than only offering it as food parcels, FareShare has a couple of food safety requirements to ensure that all food is handled safely and appropriately. The FareShare representative who visits you will check that these requirements are in place.
1. At least one volunteer or member of staff must hold a Level 2 certificate in Food Safety and Catering. All other food handlers should be knowledgeable of food hygiene requirements and have had the appropriate training.
2. Your kitchen premises must be registered with the local Environmental Health Authority. Use this link to find out where to register: https://www.gov.uk/food-business-registration
